The project is aimed at developing a prison management system that is a collection of reports for the effective management of the prisons.

It deals with accessing various details of the prisoner whether still imprisoned or released.

If the prisoner is still in the prison the system will effectively deal with accessing his/her personal details such as the prisoner's name, his address, date of birth, height, weight, photograph, his/her relatives with their contact details etc. It will also help in accessing his/her sentence details such as when the prisoner was sent to the prison, when will he/she be released and the reason for his/her imprisonment. We shall also keep a track of the prisoner's sentence details, criminal background, and parole grant (that is, whether or not a prisoner was granted parole. If yes, what were the reasons for this grant.). Record of people who move in/out of the prison to meet the prisoner, a duty register that shall maintain details of where and when respective officers were allocated duties, a group of prisoners who shall be released on the same day, or will be released next week, month etc shall be maintained. Fund allotted for medical, food, transportation and other personal requirements and the routine transactions that take place in the prison is also an important aspect that will be dealt with.

The system can be accessed only by users who have provided rightful information during sign up and have hence successfully registered themselves with the system.

Advanced administration facility will be maintained by the respective authorized users. The updations will include add/update users, backup/ recovery of data, generating various reports from time to time.
