alt-bb aims to provide a set of J2ME libraries to help BlackBerry developers overcome the limitations of the platform.

The initial aim is to create a helper for networking. This is one of the biggest hurdles in third part BlackBerry development - opening a network connections! The library will hopefully bring together code from various developers who have overcome this hurdle and abstract all the nasty BES/BIS/APN configuration mess that people have to deal with.
