Jaybird is a JCA/JDBC driver suite for the Firebird database server. Jaybird is developed as a pure Java implementation of the wire protocol, but also includes support for the native client-libraries and embedded Firebird (also through native libraries).

The Jaybird driver is based on both the JCA standard for application server connections to enterprise information systems and the well known JDBC standard.

Jaybird (trunk) requires at least Java 6 to compile and run properly.
