RDBA is intended to be to Ruby what JDBC is to Java - a cross-DBMS API for data access. RDBA is an adaptation in the sense that it will not strictly conform to the JDBC API. Instead, it will use Ruby conventions (e.g., method naming conventions) whenever possible and use Ruby features (e.g., closures) to the greatest extent possible.

The 0.1 version of RDBA will support Oracle. Future releases will support Postgres, MySQL, and other commercial RDBMS's.
