A minimalistic monitoring system that is intended to be:

Self-contained (no web server needed). Fairly minimalistic (it does require Ruby, but is otherwise small). Network transparent. Suitable for trivially plugging in custom sensors and using them reliably, without putting extreme requirements on the quality of the sensors themselves. It is specifically designed for cases where there is no infrastructure in place, and where such infrastructure is not feasable. Typically single machines, or a small collection of machines.
