Trek is both a web browser and a new kind of social network. It allows its users to meet and interact by overlaying the web with graphical avatars. Said avatars represent each user on a given page.

Users can move their avatars to any piece web content (or, in fact, anywhere on the page) to foster conversations thereabout. They can form parties or "browsing treks" to move about the web in a group. Chatting is done via speech balloons that pop from the avatars, or a more traditional chat log. Trek also maintains profiles and a friends lists for each user.
